Lot of nice HP Classic Calculators - 45s, 65s, 67s,
I have been collecting and refurbishing classic HP calculators for several years. I was member number 88 in the HP-User Group back in the 70s. I have sold only a few on eBay, mostly, 35s, 45s, 55s, and 80s. My main interest being 65s and 67s.

A few years ago a member of this group suggested using the inside insulation from an RG58 coax cable for the card reader coupler/clutch. I changed all of my 65 and 67 couplers. I started to list them on eBay and as I went though them, I found 2 of the 8 couplers had cracked. I ended the 65 I had listed even though its coupler has not cracked. The coupler sleeves were kept for all of them.

All of these calculators have been completely disassembled, washed (not the electronics, of course) and are in excellent or better condition, including the instructions. Leather cases have been recondition with leather lotion.

The absolutely firm price price for the entire lot is $1,500, unless you would like to pay more.

Battery holder/charger, numerous rebuilt batteries using Tenergy cells, several Pacs without instructions.

I think it is best to have a phone call (513-543-1342 or 614-745-1003) if you are interested. The attached photo is the 1st 65 in the list. Its conditions is indicative of all the calculators. I never kept anything but the best available. I can take and email additional photos, but only if I KNOW you are seriously interested.

I am asking only $1,500 for the entire lot.

All of the calculators, instructions, and other accessories are comparable to this. No instructions with ragged edges, etc.

RE: Lot of nice HP Classic Calculators - 45s, 65s, 67s,
I wonder if we could organize a group buy... I'd definitely want one of the 65s

RE: Lot of nice HP Classic Calculators - 45s, 65s, 67s,
I should have posted this as a reply instead of editing the original post. I removed the following information from the original post.

I found and fixed the problems with the HP-67s. They now work perfectly. I had said there were card reader problems. It was poor connections between the leaf springs and the circuit board. All it took was cleaning them. I also changed out the RG58 couplers to the double insulation method recommended years ago by Geoff Quickfall. It was a mistake to change my 65s and 67s to the RG58 coax method. I will probably change all of the 65s back to this method, requiring only taking off the backs and unscrewing the motor to access the coupler. It won't take long. Changing to RG58s was a mistake -- they crack over time.

RE: Lot of nice HP Classic Calculators - 45s, 65s, 67s,
Whoever bought the lot, maybe you could tell them to let us know when they put them up for sale. I'd be interested in 1-2 individually. Thanks!
