HP Prime 2 key not working.
My occasionally used 3 month old calculator 2 key no longer responds.

To enter a 2, must copy one, or use an expression.

My calculator is about 3 months old, purchased from Amazon, Amazon return policy 30 days.

The key doesnt respond when using in combination with SHift or Alpha.

Looks like garbage, repair probably cost prohibitive.

Any suggestions appreciated.

After “playing” with the calculator I discovered if I press the button very hard the 2 key sometimes works, but not like the other keys. So repeatedly pressing the 2 likely to cause more damage or loosen up the functionality.

Nothing has been spilt on it, just this one key and no apparent physical damage.

It should still be under the 1 year warranty from HP.

Steve, thank you for your response.
When I went to HP website and entered my serial number, it claims expired!

Did Amazon sell me a refurbished as new?

I cant find any reference to warrantee anywhere, nor when the warrantee expired.

RE: HP Prime 2 key not working.
Thai Rat,

Take a look at your Amazon purchase record. Amazon sells the Prime right now that is supplied by three different "partners." I suggest you contact Amazon and complain that the Prime you got from their partner was either old, dead stock or maybe, as you suggested, a refurb. In any case, Amazon should make good on your situation. Alternately, HP should fix your calculator if they see proof that you bought it new from Amazon in January. Good luck.

Edit: you might even contact the partner to see if they can help you.

RE: HP Prime 2 key not working.
According to another user on Amazon that had a similar experience HP sold the rights to another company. This appears to be true, HP dont list calculators on their support site.

Amazon havent offered any support at all.

I'm sorry, I forgot that HP has washed their hands of the Prime. You might try messaging KlaasKuperus of Moravia. He's our go-to man for all things Prime now and frequents this message board.
