The GNU bc utility uses \( e^{-x} = \frac{1}{e^x} \) and \( e^x = { \left( e^{\frac{x}{2}} \right) }^2 \) to range reduce so that x ≤ 1.

Then it uses the Maclaurin series which will converge very quickly.
