Many digits of pi again
This is in reference to the article by Katie listing several programs for various machines to calculate many digits of pi in record time, posted Oct 17, 2008
http://www.hpmuseum.org/cgi-sys/cgiwrap/...i?read=899 Some programs manage 6 digits per memory, some 7 or 8. I suspect the choice is based on a combination of internal precision of calculation and the number of terms calculated. Is there a thread describing how to select the number of digits per memory? Or can someone clarify that? (Katie?) Thank you - sorry if this is a repeat Benoit |
