libhpcalcs: portable (Windows / MacOS X / Linux) connectivity kit library

Yeah, the packet loss ratio (before the packets even reach libhpcalcs) seems random, but remains very high...

A quick search, using several queries, doesn't turn up USB packet capture software running on MacOS X. On Linux, there's Wireshark, and on Windows, there's a wealth of tools, both proprietary and free software - but nothing obvious for MacOS X.
