There are two ways to tell the new version of the 12C or 10bII+.

By serial number:
1. NEW 10BII+ starts with “PHA”
2. NEW 12C starts with “PHA” or “9CJ” or “7CD” or “3CD”

Do the serial numbers have more meaning to them; are there different codes for models sold in different part of the world?

So does this mean that only the 12C and 10BII+ were updated. But the 12C Platinum wasn't updated?

Another question: How do the speeds of the new12C compare with the Platinum?

The codes represent the various factories. Its unlikely HP would reveal specifics, but its a safe bet they're in China.

The 30th Ann 12C ran about 50 times faster than the 25th Ann 12CP. I think the 12CP h/w has remain unchanged, while the 12C changed to a new SOC/CPU because the one used prior was discontinued.

At HHC, I believe Cyrille said the new CPU is roughly the same performance as the prior one, but hopefully someone will get one and post benchmark results here.
