I agree with your suggestion and Dave, scrap it! With all the ram made available by FRAM71, I can see no justification to have an 8KB block; the "extra bit" can certainly be used more effectively with some future features or capabilities.

After all, if you really need 8KB, just use 16KB, and consider the extra 8KB "room for growth".
