Here's what I do:
[f] CLEAR RESET [y] -> Erased
123 [STO] [+] [.] [x] -> 123 (wrong)
123 [STO] [+] [ENTER] [x] -> 246 (right)

I can live with just the [ENTER] way, obviously. But indeed it's odd.
