Congrats!
The 45 was also my first HP calculator, purchased when I was studying electronics in college. (I think I paid $450.00 in 1974....a fortune back then.) I almost got the 35, but when I saw that the 45 could do polar<->rectangular conversions, I had to have one. (Try doing complex transmission line analysis problems with a Teledyne Post Versalog II slide rule!) I've got dozens of other models now, but there's still a 45 on my desk for doing quick misc calculations. (And 3 more in storage as backups.) It's still a great calculator.
