Yes I used 13-digit routines for the MCODE version in the SandMath, which uses the Lanczos formula - and indeed the result for x=70.9575744 is exactly:

9.9999975 99,

and using VMANT to see the mantissa:
9.999997560

So it appears to hold up nicely in that region.
