That's sometimes called "coma mode" (not the same as "comma mode"). Please note that this tip only works on G2 Primes (hardware version D), *and* it only work if you hold down both keys for at least half a second before releasing them. If you release them too soon, only an ordinary OFF is performed. When Prime is in coma mode, pressing On once wakes it up, but it takes a few seconds to turn back on. When a G2 Prime is unused for several days, it goes into coma mode automatically.

Has anybody done any actual measurements of power drain in normal Off mode versus coma mode? That would be very useful.

As for other tips & tricks for battery life optimization, one big power drain is the LCD's backlight, so keep the TDim setting as low as you can tolerate, and/or habitually use a lower backlight brightness setting (selected by holding down the On key and then pressing - to dim or + to brighten). Setting TOff as low as you can tolerate also helps of course. If you use your Prime on a desk, just leave it plugged into a powered USB cable and forget about worrying about the battery.
