RE: Calculator Project

I'd carry a four-banger in my pocket when going to the supermarket, the hardware store, the lumber yard, etc. In fact I do! The only thing is it doesn't use RPN. I'd pay for a basic RPN calculator. I know I may be in the tiny minority but this is a one-man calculator project, the Chinese aren't involved (unless the OP is Chinese) and there's no need for mass production. A sale of fifteen or twenty units would be fine. I'd buy six or seven myself to give out to friends and family. If nothing else it would be fun to watch them search for the Equals key!

First, in no way did I intend to imply that Dan's new project isn't viable or interesting, I certainly hope no one took my comments that way.

Gamo had expressed interest in a machine that seems to me quite different from what Dan is developing. He asked for a simple, limited feature, RPN machine with full stack display (based on the Android 11C/12C/15C portrait mode layout, which only has X in the display). While Dan's machine does have RPN and full stack (in color, plus lots more) it is not simple in any way, it seems to be in fact quite feature-rich, so I assumed Gamo was asking for something quite different. (But I'll add here that Dan's design looks quite interesting and if it can be realized in a handheld format, I'll be getting one!)

It probably doesn't need to be said, but it can't hurt: essentially all folks that want RPN and can understand/need the full stack, would not be satisfied with 4-banger functionality, hence my pessimistic world forecast. That said, if one were to appear, I'd probably buy one of these as well, so I'll go ahead and increase that to 11+7+1 = 19.
