No, the figures are from the manual and the unit was always like this. Installed new from a quality manufacturer in 2000.

May I ask which make and model? I'd like to take a look at the data sheet. I'm really curious about this discrepancy between the COP number you mentioned and what other sources are telling me you should be able to get. I'm obviously missing something here.
