Hmmh, maybe it's naïve assuming it can be easily done. If such devices work in b/w only, however, that would be a show-stopper.

I think it is not realistic to expect to use a full-color large format document on a cell phone or a grayscale Kindle. I use my 3.1 PDF manual on my 8 inch tablet and that works pretty well. But it would be painful on anything much smaller (without teenage eyes ).
