It fixed itself. It was apparently nothing more than a paper jam. Thank you for your quick response. It was a bit baffling because there just enough paper showing after I tore it away to look like it should move. Finally I got hold of the tiny bit that was showing and physically yanked it til enough showed to move on its own. Again thanks. Looking for a paper jam seemed the simplest first step.
