CAS Prognosis ??

It has merged program steps (a big step up from the 65), all the core scientific functions, card reader (backward compatible for 41), program compatibility with the desktop -97, LEDs, 3-colored shift keys (I believe only 3 HP models have 3 colored shift keys), the most pleasingly crowded keyboard labels possible (excluding the WP-34S) to cover primary plus all 3 shifts, plus that amazing classic heft/feel in the hand.

I may have been influenced by years of yearning for one. Maybe. In fact I ordered one while in college, only to find out the HP-41C had been announced on the same day; with sadness and bravery, I called to cancel the 67 to switch to the 41C. Of course this was the right decision, but for many weeks, even after having the 41C, I regretted not buying the HP-67 I had longed for. Fast forward about 30 years and I went hunting on eBay and finally got my HP-67, which I just love having. I make a point of using it about once a week, even if just to balance my checkbook. It's just satisfying to use.

Though it is theoretically possible that CAS has affected my perceptions, one can easily tell (re-read the 2nd paragraph above if nesc.) that this is simply a must-have machine. Ask anyone that owns one if they don't agree and feel this way. In the shocking circumstance that a current owner does not agree, make an immediate offer before he/she comes to his/her senses.
