Opening old Singapore machines, using this technique, are VERY difficult. My 48sx from 91 refused to opening, even when I apply force, comparable to crack thing out So, I remove metal overlay, and then drill those latches. Metal overlay in one place (near screen) was glued so tightly, that even hot hair-dryer flow cannot help - only thin knife helps. And even after that I get some little "waves" on the metal overlay under the screen. But, anyway, It works now!
