with "93A4 9697 9819 1A1B 1C1D 1E9F 0000 0000" (=32+16+32+32+32+[7*32]+16=384k),
1) MEM after MEMORY LOST: 393738
2) after FREEPORT(5.05): 164347
3) after FREEPORT(5.04): 131561
4) after FREEPORT(5.03): 98778
5) after FREEPORT(5.02): 66010
6) after FREEPORT(5.01): WRN:Configuration, 49631
7) CLAIMPORT(5.01) : Device not found, 49618 (oops... if 5.01 isn't existing, who ate the 16k between steps 5 and 6?
8) CLAIMPORT(5.02) : WRN:Configuration, 82385 (again, we are 16k short of the expected 98778)
9) SHOWPORT : 5.05 229376 1
10) OFF/ON : WRN:Configuration, 82391

re-claiming all ports doesn't remedy the WRN: Configuration message. also, after a MEMORY LOST there are now 16k missing when doing MEM.
this is the case when the HP-71B fails to properly re-CLAIMPORT(x.xx), or when a hidden memory block that was formerly FREEPORTed, but never CLAIMPORTed, gets revived with a new configuration. using jumper CN2:2 in conjunction with an [ON]/[/],3 and then removing CN2:2 followed by [OFF], [ON] brings back formerly FREEPORTed memory blocks.
can't see a fault in FRAM71 handling the memory blocks, though.

I confirm 393738 bytes after Memory Lost. The Configuration Warning occurs even if port 5.01 is the first one FREEPORTed. This isn't the behavior I expected. Why can ports 5.02-5.04 be FREEPORTed without a warning, yet 5.01 always causes a warning? Is it an issue with Base Address 0x40000?

EDIT:
I tried to mix it up using config string "9314 1516 1718 191A AB9C 9D9E 0000 0000" after resetting
which yielded 384k, however, in this configuration:
Code:
>SHOWPORT
0.05  16384  2
0      4096  0
0.01   4096  0
0.02   4096  0
0.03   4096  0
5     32768  0
5.01 229376  0
5.01  16384  0
5.02  32768  0
5.03  32768  0
5.04  32768  0

Something doesn't look right with Port 5.01.

Dave
