What would that be? I can come up with normalization of weights to make sure that their sum is 1. But looking at vectors as mathematical objects I don't see a lot of applications. What's the geometrical meaning of the sum of the coordinates of a vector? Compared to the scalar product or the length. This value changes even with isometric coordinate transformations: compare [4, 3] to [5, 0] or [2, 2, 1] to [0, 3, 0].
