they may be sold/marketed in that way, but many of us measure disk storage in 2^10/1024; and we call them kilobytes Smile

Popular usage is slowly changing to conform to the international standard (kibi vs. kilo) however. Since my country is still in the 19th century when it comes to measurements, I won't hold my breath waiting for it to convert to ANY new standard. I'll just start using the new standard personally!
