Thanks so much. Pressing [Shift] [▲] or [Shift] [▼] does the trick.

Now, I see it is documented in the DM42 user manual ( https://www.swissmicros.com/dm42/doc/dm42_user_manual/ ) in the "Alpha Input Mode" section.
