I've opened and repaired this type of printer before. Not terribly difficult if you have the service manual at hand. That can be found on the MoHPC flash drive here (a good investment)

Have you first checked to see if the print head moves freely and there is a response to the paper advance? Perhaps you just have a jam or loose mechanical connection that can be resolved by opening the unit and having a look. There are I believe five screws in the bottom that need to be removed to access the works.

There is a rubber wheel driving the paper that eventually deteriorates and needs to be replaced. You can find a few suppliers that have the o-ring material to make a repair on eBay. Just search for "hp82240 repair". I don't know of anyone who would fix it for you though - perhaps someone else does?
