Hello,
First, the support person is definitely at fault here. Disseminating bad information. Second, I woudl agree that the battery should be verified and that the PrError is a sign that things are actually pretty good. Thrid, I have have not looked at the CPU doc, but I am prety sure that the ATMEL chip has a flash life which is longer than 5 to 10 years. These chips are designed to last decades, not years.
