How do you enter a formula that has variables with subscripts?
For example, N sub 0 or N sub t, etc.

You can put the numbers in a list and then work with brackets like L3(1), L3(2) etc.
Zero is not possible to my knowledge

There is no keyboard input, but you could look for the sub/super indexes in the Character catalog [Shift+Vars]/More/[Subscript/Suprscript].
