  The following example in the use of the Hewlett Packard HP67 programmable calculator is included to help the reader to appreciate the potential of these instruments. Only a few of this calculator's capabilities are used in the example.
Required
  To determine the National Grid coordinates of points on the centre line of a circular horizontal road curve and the bearing of the tangent to the curve at each point, given the radius of the curve, the bearing of the tangent at the start of the curve,
the coordinates and chainage at the start of the curve, and the chainages of the required points on the curve. (See figure 11.1.) …
