Allschwil Meeting 2020
Hi Guys and Girls

I am happy to announce there will be a European HP meeting in 2020. Of course, the meeting will take place again in the area of Allschwil, Switzerland.
At the moment I can fix the date, so So you can already book cheap train connections or flights a well as hotels.

The meeting will take place on 10 October 2020!

Since the last meeting Hans-Peter Bieger is also back in the organizing committee. He has already been able to reserve the location again. This time again we are allowed to hold our meeting in the proven hall in Oberwil.

More information will be available soon on my website.

Just to let you know that 10-Oct clashes with the HPCC AGM & mini-conference in London. (This could be moved to September but it constrains things a bit.)

Last time, Allschwil was late in October - any special reason for bringing it forward?

RE: Allschwil Meeting 2020
That helps determine the date for HHC 2020, too. At HHC 2019, the attendees were already leaning towards preferring October 3/4, but there were some who wanted October 10/11 too. With Allschwil and London both being October 10, it seems like October 3/4 is the only remaining logical choice for HHC 2020. But again, that hasn't yet been officially decided (to my knowledge).

It would, of course, be best if all three were on different weekends, but I do wonder how much overlap there would be between attendees in Allschwil and the mini-conference in London.

I obviously missed that discussion. These meetings on two consecutive weekends, would surely make me miss one of them.

A very bad surprise that HHC is moved back perhaps and Allschwil forward. I'd prefer that those dates were not so close to each other.

For future reference, they're always on the 2nd Saturday of the month.

There are only 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.

31st October would be good because that's the end of half-term holiday so my partner could come as well for a short holiday.

Why not a date around November 1st, as in the previous years?

RE: Allschwil Meeting 2020
The USA HHC meeting date is influenced in 2020 by a couple of factors.

1) Religious Holidays fall consecutively on weekends at the end of September.
2) Personal conflicts fall on the weekend before of the likely host (me).

That's why we had been focusing in on October 3-4 2020. September is just a bad month this year for the USA meeting... Sorry!

Option A: Bring it forward to August school holidays and then US teachers could attend. Hotel prices are 95% dependent on whether there is an event happening in the area, not the holiday season. (Of course, Nashville always has an event on, so to speak.) :-)

Option B: Hold it in Allschwil and let Hans-Peter do the organising. ;-)

RE: Allschwil Meeting 2020
No A, no B, but C:

Since the proposed date would cause a collision with another meeting and we don't want meetings to be played off against each other, we have found a new date for our meeting:

The Allschwil HP Meeting will now take place on November 7, 2020.

We hope that our efforts have been worthwhile and that as many participants as possible can come.

RE: Allschwil Meeting 2020
Hello,
I will attend as well. The date is so far away that if the date changes it is not dramatic to me.

Thanks

Hi Matthias and Hans-Peter,

Last time Woodstock LP, next time Spice LP, if a funny presentation is needed. I'm in.

That's one small step for a man - one giant leap for mankind.
