I think one of the best magazines related to symbolic computing is Journal of Symbolic Computation (CAS)

A good article: Symbolic Computation (An Editorial)

Nice, it is a pity that I don't know French (yet). I am going to put it in the collection and on the wiki.

@compusystem. Thanks for the hint but the journal of symbolic computation, I guess, is too extended. It is like considering something for general programming or math, can be applied to calculators? Sure, but it is overkill.

My viewpoint at the moment focus on what can be done for / what was done with / what was done for a calculator device with relatively (relatively = it depends) limited ram. Because at the end the main limit for calulators is ram/working storage .

For example the HP 97 was a desktop calculator larger than my laptop, but was not much better than the hp 67 (for what I read) and both had very limited capacities compared to the computers at the time.

Same now. A prime is amazing, but compared to a computer or even a raspi is nothing (in ram terms). The 50g is amazing, but compared to computers produced between 2007 and 2015 was nothing and so on.

Hello,

Also in French, L'Ordinateur de Poche magazine archive here:
http://www.abandonware-magazines.org/affiche_mag.php?mag=15

I was reading and re-reading that magazine when I was a teenager...

You can find other old French magazines on the same site, but l'Ordinateur de Poche was focused on pocket computers and calculators.

Regards

Vincent

I have all, or nearly all, of the issues of "The International Calculator Collector" quarterly magazine from the mid-1990's, put out by Guy Ball and Bruce Flamm. It's 13 issues. They called their publishing company "Wilson/Barnett Publishing." If someone would like to scan them and put them online, I'll send them. I'll let you work out any copyright issues.

I also have "Handheld Solutions" magazine by CMT, issues 2 through 10 and 13, plus one that's probably #1 before they started numbering them, from about 1988 to 1990. These were basically infomercials for their handheld, calculator-shaped PCs.

Hi Garth. For my experience a user that is interested in scans is normally 'Dave Frederickson' on this forum.

Thanks
