HP 28S - how to open - beerlim - 07-24-2017 10:20 AM

I have a 28S and the 2nd bottom row on both sides of the calculator are not working.
How would I go about opening the calculator? I can not find it on youtube either.

Thanks

Hi,

A french book "Voyage au centre de la HP 28c/s" written by Lalande and Courbis explain the procedure. This great book can be downloaded here :

It's free but you can make a donation.

Have fun,
Philippe

How do I get the images to work? They do not show up for me, that is why I started to document my own.

To go a step further: My goal would be create a new case.

You should be able to see the images here.

I finished documenting the opening of the HP28S. Same URL as before
Then I cleaned the contacts and put it back together just to see if it worked.
I could not believe it, it really worked.
So my next step will be to create a new case to transfer everything from the old "destroyed" one to the new. Will see how that goes.

Well the next step is planed by creating a new case for the HP-28

Just a suggestion, but wouldn't the Door-in-Back version of the battery compartment {as deployed on the final HP-19BII model} have enhanced longevity/utility over the Door-on-Side version?

BEST!
