Hi, I'm a newbie here so please bear with me. I recently acquired a nice copy of the Electronic Handbook Series of the Defense Nuclear Agency (1 July 1984) for AIR BLAST CALCULATIONS for the HP41 which was to include the HP41 BLAST ROM. Unfortunately, the ROM that was included was the WEAPONS EFFECT ROM (82500B-A39) not the BLAST ROM. Would anyone have the BLAST ROM that they would be willing to sell or trade for the WEAPONS EFFECT ROM? Regards.

Maybe this is the correct name of the Weapon Effects ROM?

Thank you for your reply! I am not sure if what you suggest is true or not. The ROM itself is labeled as WPN EFFECTS and has part number printed on it (mentioned previously). This ROM actually was to be included in a different publication; it is the wrong ROM for this publication. I am looking for a ROM that might be labeled AIR BLAST which should have been included in this publication. I attached some photos of what I have. The overlay card that is in the photo is the correct one for the BLAST ROM and is quite different than the one for the WPN EFFECTS. Regards.[attachment=5654][attachment=5655]

The overlays certainly look different, which seems to indicate that a different AIR BLAST module should also exist. BTW those manuals sure look handsome, could you make them available on-line some time?

Cheers,

Yes, I would be happy to put these manuals online. But it will take sometime for me to do that. Scanning them won't be easy.

Excellent news, please do when you can. I've not seen these since about when they came out, back when it was part of "work". Even though not classified, I never thought any of these would see the light of day, for obvious reasons. Were you able to acquire any of the other titles in this series?

Hi Bob, I have one other title from the Defense Nuclear Agency series, specifically "WEAPON EFFECTS". This is the manual for which I have duplicate ROM's. I attached some photos of this one. I can post this manual online also but patience is definitely going to be a virtue in this project. In the interim, please let me know if a BLAST ROM shows-up anywhere. When I get the scans completed I'll post a message here. Regards.[attachment=5667][attachment=5668][attachment=5669]

Wally, while no one knows for sure who has the largest collection of HP-41 ROMs, the best documented list is available here, on Matthias Wehrli's great website. While HTI's "Weapon Effects" ROM is listed (plus 2 other HTI ROMs) the BLAST ROM is not, which typically means that it is quite rare. I'm interested too and will certainly keep an eye out for it.

No rush at all to share the manuals, but be warned folks here have long memories, and won't forget they're coming... Wink

Sorry, your name was? hahah, just kidding - indeed we'll be looking forward to the manuals, those binders look very classy.
Hopefully being loose leafs from a 3-ring binder makes the scanning easier, at least non-destructive to the original material.

Cheers,
ÁM

Well, I tried to attach a PDF scan (ZIP file) of the handbook to this post but the system says it is too big. Maybe I could upload it in several parts.

Here is the last part of the Defense Nuclear Agency AIR BLAST Handbook. This file also has a scan of the QRG and the Overlay card. Now if I could only find the ROM itself life would be grand!

Thanks very much for the effort to scan this and sharing it.

For most files, it's easiest to share them from DropBox, G-Drive, OneDrive, etc. with a link in your post. The quota's here are unfortunately rather small, and you'll use yours up rather quickly sharing large docs like this.

Thanks again.

Many thanks for sharing, hope you find the module eventually - seems to be a very rare one though...
