Who uses the version 10077? [Solved] - jrozsas - 08-15-2016 09:03 PM

I updated my calculator to the 10077 version when it was released by HP.
I never had any problems with this version and many people who were unable to upgrade before HP removing the update ask me because HP does not have a schedule of a new firmware version.
I thought they are right to have this doubt, because I have the new version and do not feel that this may annoy users who have the 8151 version.
So I wonder if there are more people using the 10077 version or the 8151

Like you, I updated to version 10077 shortly after it appeared.

I had no problems with the update. I have a physical Prime, and I use the HP Connectivity Kit while running Windows 7 on Parallels on my Macintosh.

I am a very light user of the Prime. I do not heavily exercise it with any significant programs at all, so, perhaps I will not see any problems like others who have loaded many user programs, or who are performing large or difficult calculations.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

The primary reason it was pulled was so we could investigate the very rare cases where people *shortly after the update* seemed to be loosing data on the drive when transferring a lot of large data programs/apps (the tiplanet document converter output seeming to be the only "culprit" in that regard).

If you've been using it since then, it is highly unlikely you'd have issues with continuing to use it.

I'm using 10077 without major problems. A lot of bugs are solved, but others are introduced.
I reported a bug in the geometric app, something with translation in the vertical direction, I think Parisse already solved it.
Tim wrote about the primary reason why 10077 was pulled out, thanks for that information, but maybe there were also secondary reasons!
It's a little bit frustrating the lack of official information from HP, but I must live with it.

On the other hand, I want to know; is the Prime still a serious product for HP, how many software people are working how may days or hours per week to make the Prime bugs free, etc.
I can't believe that it is more than one year man hour work to make it bugs free.
Okay, I got not an answer!

Above is not negative mentioned, the HP Prime must be the best calculator of the world!!

I have upgraded right after 10077 was released. The Calculator is very unstable, resetting a lot. I will downgrade soon because for exams I need a device that is not loosing all data while typing in equations or switching from home to cas etc.

my calculator does not reset and not lose data with version 10077 (home to Cas). How is it that two calculators of the same model have different behavior?

For the record, and possibly the reminder: one of the Prime bricks reported on TI-Planet (by a Spanish-speaking user, I'm told), was created without using large documents converted through our converter Smile

I'm using 10077 - - no problems with instability. Works fine.

I was lucky enough to find a forum member willing to send me the 10077 firmware, emulator and connectivity kit. I flashed my Prime yesterday (16 Aug) and so far it's working great.

There are two versions of the Prime. The older one had USB problems presumably.

I think there are three versions.. It's reported in another thread about a unit with high contrast keyboard, what looks like a new firmware, and maybe other differences. It's model number hasn't been reported.

I sadly don't use my HP Prime much lately, but I had no issue with 10077 except that just like other OS updates, I had to retry about 15 times before it sends without hanging. Took me half an hour I swear.

I do use 10077 and I'm one of the fortunate ones not to any problems. (knock on wood) However, anything I would put on the blog or programs I contribute to the HP Prime library should be able to work on the 8151 version.

Hello,

Only the color on the plastic parts were changed. There is no internal changes on these new units.
