So I was considering the option to lower the risks and invest money to get the calculator flashed by sbdy more skilled than I. If anybody volunteers, please feel free to PM me your conditions.

Please tell us where you live on this planet.

d:-?

P.S.: Just saw it on your CP. Maybe something for Marcus?
Hi Walter,
Some said I come from the moon but I pay my taxes in France, more precisely north east quarter. I guess any place around, including Germany would do.

Finally received a couple of overlays from Eric today!

Thanks mate, they look very good! I'm not going to apply them before I'm sure the 30b's serial port is not fried.

Please tell Eric that some important parts are missing in your delivery. Compare the manual.

Hi Walter, thanks for mentionning this. Are you referring to the optional '/' key to replace 'รท'?

RE: [CLOSED/FAILED] 34s project initiated - walter b - 02-21-2014 07:01 AM

24.5 points for you Smile Not only that, however, but three more differences to improve the skin of your WP 34S. I admit I'm biased though Wink

RE: [CLOSED/FAILED] 34s project initiated - Tugdual - 02-21-2014 02:11 PM

Hmm then I guess you refer to the slightly bigger f/g/h keys.
I ordered two overlays and I do have this extension on one of them; since the other one is only a spare one, I hope I won't be in need but I'm glad you mentioned it because it may possibly be a problem for some other people.

Oops, try again Wink
(There is another difference between the f, g, and h keys on the main overlay and those on the extension.)

Lol there are trolls on this forum ...
Am I looking for the Waldo key?

White lettered shift keys?

Sorry if my post appeared trollish, that was not my intent. I was just trying (but apparently failing) to have a little fun.

Yes, that's it. I believe Walter prefers the white labels to the ones whose colors match the shift function.

It was fun Jeff ;-) and Walter started the game anyway.

BTW as I mentioned I have two overlays and the other one has the extensions you mentioned. I indeed prefer the white keys which are easier to read but for the divide symbol I think I'll stick on the regular one which is what I have on the prime and on the 15C. Not sure why Eric didn't send twice the variation but since at the moment I'm not even sure I'll ever have a 34s, I wont start a fuss now.

Your package hasn't arrived yet. I'll try hard to help you out.

I very much appreciate it Marcus, big Thank. Nothing expected before next Wednesday; I have total confidence in your skills, I just hope that the 30b port wasn't fried due to the symetric +6/-6 signals coming from my RS232 :-s. Well, we'll see...

RE: [NOT YET DEAD] 34s project initiated - Tugdual - 03-02-2014 02:48 PM

Changed the thread status from [Closed/Failed] to [Not yet dead] since Marcus seems to have reanimated the dead body of my 30b. I can tell that on this forum talent competes with kindness. Feeling very grateful for the help... and looking forward to see my new beast.

RE: [SUCCESS] 34s project closed - Tugdual - 03-08-2014 01:20 PM

Just received the 34s programmed by Marcus and finished adding stickers on it. Wow it's nice I'm very excited with the result. Project is closed on the hardware side , still a long journey before I tame this little monster. In process...
Big big grateful thank to Marcus (for his unswerving kind support), Walter (for having had the patience to read my posts and trolling me as well ;-) ) and Eric (for the nice stickers). Thanks for the concept, the tremendous work, I have prepared coffee, I'll now start reading the manual!
Edit: just tried the stop watch. Awesome...

Fortunately, I had some spare crystals and capacitors in a drawer and spare time to upgrade the device. Smile

Have Fun !
