[Pictures] CMT HP-IL DISPLAY FOR HP-71B and HP-41C - Blackhole - 09-10-2015 07:47 PM

Hello,
I would like to find manual or information about this HP-IL device.
Thanks,

Never heard of such a device. Is it a video interface? If so the only HP-IL video interfaces I know of are either from HP itself, from Pac Hardware GmbH, Micro Technic A/S, or Grabau. Do you have any additional information about it?

Sorry for the bad picture.

Cool! Never saw and heard of such a device. However, by googling I found some pages where this device is mentioned, in particular:
HP-IL ADDRESSING - THE AAU MODE

As this seems to be a rare device it might not be easy to find some documentation.

I should get it today or tomorrow

The company still has a web presence selling Geographic Information System software and GPS data collectors - although I am not sure how active they are. (I have one of their GPS units, it had a HP-41 emulator module on it as an option.) I still use their software.

Its a long shot, but maybe they have some documentation they would be willing to send you.

I have one of their handheld "data collectors" which is really an MS-DOS machine akin to the 200LX. It seems like it is probably no coincidence that it looks like a gigantic indestructible HP-41 but with CORVALLIS MICROTECHNOLOGY in the place of HEWLETT PACKARD.

They are available cheap with broken battery packs from the forestry industry. Nice machine, a real "end of the world" computer.

Some surveyors used them too. They had their 15 minutes of fame while they had the biggest memory and screen available. They weren't really dust-proof though and were a bad long term investment if you worked around bull dozers and scrapers.

Wow. That looks like an excellent device to have. I second your emotion - I'd *love* to get my hands on one of those.

Thanks very much to all who dug up these bits of information. I had no idea this device ever existed.

Some high-res pictures of this item that I don't need. I don't have any HP-IL module to test it.

RE: [Pictures] CMT HP-IL DISPLAY FOR HP-71B and HP-41C - Michael Fehlhammer - 12-22-2016 10:59 AM

I just have acquired a CMT multicase for the HP 71b ( don't know yet whether it is still working, have to change batteries etc) which basically is a heated protective case with three IL devices: a CMT Ramdisk, an 82164a compatible RS 232 interface, and a CMT IL-Display like the one that also exists as a separate device and was discussed here.
Now I wonder if anyone got his hands on the manual (documentation of the LCD escape-sequences) meanwhile.
Or did an owner of the display find out the codes by experimenting?
Any pieces of information would be welcome!
