Senior Membership - Gerald H - 03-08-2015 04:12 PM

I've just noticed I've been promoted to senior member!

Is this a recognition of my general sagacity? my knowledge of calculators? my resounding critique of the Prime? my eloquent prose style? the perfection of the progs I publish?

RE: Senior Membership - Sylvain Cote - 03-08-2015 04:32 PM

All of the above plus that you have more than 300 posts ;-)

RE: Senior Membership - Thomas Klemm - 03-08-2015 04:33 PM

Membership categories
I don't remember the numbers. Could be 300 for a senior.

Cheers and welcome to the club!
Thomas

I'm pretty sure it's this:

Newbie - 0 posts

Junior Member - 1 to 49 posts

Member - 50 to 299 posts

Senior Member 300 and up

At this moment in time there are only 20 Senior Members, it's still a pretty small club.

Have I been so talkative? Hard to believe I wrote 300 mails here already :-\
Can you junior me? I need a makeover, being senior sounds too serious for me.

You wouldn't believe, but you are at 400 already! ;)

RE: Senior Membership - Tugdual - 03-08-2015 10:56 PM

You're right, can you imagine I asked on #400 if I had 300 posts !?
A lot of questions I'm sure, that doesn't make a senior of me!

Being in the senior category could have some real advantages, some even monitary. Print this out and take it with you on your next trip to McDonalds, it may bs worth 10% off !!! Having mostly grey hair helps, but I prefer not to reveal how I know this. Let's just say my first calculator ever was a brand new HP 29C !!!!

I'm surprised the qualifying number is so low.

I propose an additional "quality of post" test & increase in the minimum number of posts to 3000.

The above change should clearly not apply retrospectively.

RE: Senior Membership - Tugdual - 03-09-2015 07:08 AM

Does it mean we entitle for a forum pension? Hey admins where is my money?

Of course!

We will be given back a (tiny) percentage of the words we used to write here.

Money? Uh?!? :)

Flashing successfully your first WP-34S acts as a bonus multiplier :-)

Yes, just about the best prize I know.

If Gerald H is a senior member, this is not a club to which anybody should aspire Tongue

I welcome our newest & most junior member Guymonde, otherwise known as member 2187.

I sure hope that you two know each other and are just playing around. (If not, Guymonde that's totally inappropriate on this forum.)

He moved from Peru to the UK, I see.

I wonder how many entries a killfile may have.

From Bissau to Palau - in the shade of Avalon,
From Fiji to Tiree and the Isles of Ebony,
From Peru to Cebu hear the power of Babylon,
From Bali to Cali - far beneath the Coral Sea

I'm up to four. But I'm sure MyBB could handle several hundred entries in your killfile.

But please, don't add me.

I'll bite (and not just for the purpose of getting my post count over 300).

Who is Guymonde and what is his back story?

Not prying--just curious.
