HP 43S already exists - Tugdual - 02-10-2015 09:18 PM

The HP 35 was called 35 after the number of keys (source wikipedia).
I checked the 35s, it has 43 keys.
So, technically, the 43s already exists...

I'm sure Walter and the other lads will be happy to hear that. :-)

That brings me to the question for what the "S" stands.
I believe the HP-97S was the first to carry that letter. Later models were 28S, 48S, 27S, 22S, 32S, 42S, and last 35S.
First comes "scientific" into my mind. But there were also lot of calcs with a scientific impetus and without an "S".

Cheers
Frido

I would agree
S: scientific
B: business
Not sure Hp was ever very strict and consistent about naming conventions.

When Continuous memory was a new feature, "C" was very popular, regardless if scientific or business.
