Can someone tell me how to embed pictures in these posts? When I click the insert an image tab it prompts me for a link. I want to upload picture files.

As you're writing, below the "Post a New Reply" window, there's the "Attachments" window. Click "Browse" there to find your folder and desired file on your computer to upload.

Should you exceed your 3 MB attachment quota you can create links to images from the web. It's even possible to create effects like scaled and zoomable images. Look here for more info on BB codes.
