Maybe i miss some important posts about the C hardware i but don't see the reason for buying a C Prime if someone already has the more 'rare and collectible' :+) A version...
Is this for the calc-to-calc connection feature?

So is there a big difference between this and the regular HP Prime? Also does this version take the new firmware update 6940 and the regular HP Prime does not? Can you please advise. Thanks

No, there is not a big difference. They are essentially identical (some slight electrical differences inside), but the "host mode" capability on the USB plug can only be active on the newer version.
