3D printer in Europa - PeterP - 03-11-2024 07:28 PM

Hi, I want to 3D print some of the HP-IL parts following Martin H‘s excellent descriptions and his generously shared stl files.
Given that a lot had changed in the last 10 years, I was wondering if anyone has made good experiences with 3d printing services in Germany or Europa, potentially especially for the HP-IL cables and connector pieces, but also for module housings (though I dont think we have stl files for them)

In the US, at least, you can look for a local Maker shop. Here in my locality in Downey, CA, the city library has a 3D printer for the public's use!

Peter,
I am in Czech Republic. I can print whatever you send me stl of.

No problem at all

Karel

Hi Peter, all,

Quite a long while ago I designed a 3D model of the HP-41 module shell based on the CMT type.

It's built using sketchup, and you can find it at msg. #7 in this thread... from 2013! (tempus fugit)
https://www.hpmuseum.org/cgi-sys/cgiwrap/hpmuseum/archv021.cgi?read=243582

It was not intended for production, just a 3D modeling exercise. These shells don't have much use without the corresponding connectors, which are the real problem...

Here you are the links to the .SKP and .STL files.

Hope you find this useful.

All the best from the Caribbean.

Diego.

Edit: The links were restricted (sorry), they're are now available.

Pilou4500, congrats on your success!

Did you use Martin’s STL files with the 3d printing service in italy you listed? What type of process and material did you use with them? No posso parlare italiano cosi bene ma forze posso usara la website nonostante!

Hi,

We print a lot of parts for the shop, and we use Sculpteo.com in France and shapeways. Shapeways tends to be more expensive. I use HP Multijet Fusion technology. I'd say we buy 90% in Sculpteo, some 5k€ per year.

I would be interested in buying few cables: I gave up home at the soldering because the material migrated everywhere (I have still parts: housing / connector / cable)
