PX15C new HW design - agarza - 02-05-2024 06:02 PM

The title may be somewhat deceptive, as it still uses the same electronic design. What has changed is the layout of the parts and the buttons used.

Surprisingly, I manage to fit all through-hole parts in the same form factor of the original voyagers.

The buttons have a clear keycap cover "a la cash register".
And has a simple 3D printed case.

Oh, and I messed up the f and g, they should have been black. Confused

I just realized why I thought those keys look so familiar: they look like they might be the same ones used in the Mini PET from Tynemouth Software.

I built one of these for my dad a few years back, and the keys were surprisingly quite nice. Not sure if the same switches are in use on the PX15C kit, but if they are, gimme! Big Grin

I don't know if they are the same switches.
The kind used for the PX are standard 6mm tactile switches with a transparent (10mm) key cover.
They lack the tactile feedback of the original HP keys. Rather, they resemble the style of TI55 keys but with a shorter key travel.

This is awesome.
Btw. Do you have any news about the project of portrait 41CX?
Thanks

If all goes well, it should be ready in about two months.

Excellent news ! only 2 months to wait...
Having had the chance and privilege to test a prototype, I will be among the first to place an order!
If the new PX15C comes out at the same time my April budget will explode.
Congratulations again, Alex, for these little gems.

Thanks to Pierre's impressive bug-hunting abilities, the PX41CX is swiftly transitioning from a mere concept to a tangible reality!

Thanks Alex, but those who used my programs could have also seen my ability to produce bugs...

RE: PX15C new HW design - Farron - 03-24-2024 01:21 PM

Hello,
I'm new to the forum and only discovered and ordered the PX 15C a few days ago.
Now I see a new model appearing here soon ... Have I ordered prematurely and made a mistake?

Next question from a newbie: I also ordered the program adapter, but which software or firmware can I load and where can I get it?

Greetings Farron

EDIT: The questions have already been answered by agarza.
