HP-12C Platinum won't turn off after screen self-test - lvt - 11-27-2023 07:02 PM

I did a screen self-test (X + ON) on my 12C and 12CP then I left my desk, thinking that they will turn off automatically.

A couple of hours later I come back and at my surprise, the screen of the 12C Platinum still remained on with all segments visible.

BTW, the other 12C did turn off as expected.

So was it a bug or a feature? Tongue

Confirmed.

My 12C Platinum also stays on after self-test, beyond the 12 minutes as per documentation (Pg. 16 of User Guide)...

Thanks for confirming.

May I ask where and when your 12CP was made?

Original test calc was 12C Platinum (China production):

S/N CNA02113887
C 2004 hP
ChE - - 564Ah

After your origin question, I also tested a Phillippines version:

S/N PHA92004WC
C 2004 hP
ChE - - 564Ah

Same results. Looks like it's a "feature" Smile!

Thanks for the info.

My 12CP is also made in the Philippines, same Checksum.
