Latest firmware DM42 - ggauny@live.fr - 08-27-2023 09:55 AM

Hello all,

I have a DM 42 from some years and I would like to know what is the latest firmware.
May be someone can also explain me how to get and install it.

Thanks.

I believe the latest version is DM42 v3.22 (Oct 8, 2022).
See the links at the bottom of the first post for the location of the firmware and installation instructions.

It's about time for a new firmware update with all the news in Free42 since then. Now the DM32 is out I hope they have more time available to work on that.

The DM32 is still in BETA and development continues on some important and innovative enhancements. Once completed, it's likely a DM42 update will be coming; can't yet say when that will be, but it will be coordinated with Thomas.

Of course we're still waiting for another DM41X update, when time comes and everybody's is pleased...

Have not forgotten it...

So many models to maintain, so little time...

Pay attention to the firmware version you currently have.
There have been improvements and changes from early versions that make it easier.

My calc in about says firmware version 3.3, but the latest version on the swissmicros site is 3.24. How is this possible?

They shoulda used 3.09 in that case! My calculator tells me that 3.9 > 3.10. Big Grin

Are you reading the version of DM42 or the version of DMCP?

A version 3.3 of DM42 was released in 2018 - what is the date(s) shown in the about display. If it is 2018, then it is indeed 3.3. There have been 20 releases since then (23 - 3 = 20).

Firmware versions should not be considered as decimal numbers

In my team, we use the following
3.9.5

3 is a major version
9 is a minor revision
5 is even smaller fixes

It just looks decimal, and of course that messes with the sort order is a file system.
