Import picture - calculate, geometry & graphing - tjurij - 08-18-2023 04:51 AM

Dear colleagues,

I have some questions regarding HP Prime graphing functions.

Can HP Prime draw graphs on the imported image and calculate the area,
similar to what the competition does:

or

- see after 5:00 - calculating Tasmania area.

I was researching but didn't notice anything like that.

Thanks

Do you have a HP Prime already?

You can load an image to the background of a plot by pressing Shift and then Plot to get to Plot Setup, then scroll down to page 3.

After that, in Plot View, you can press Menu... Fcn...... Sketch... to actually draw a graph for the calculator to estimate.

I did all of this in Function App.

Not sure about getting area.

I plan to buy it but I would like to know beforehand if it enables certain functions.
I intend to perform area calculations from real-word images, mainly with a polygon (aerodynamics for cars, cyclist - ofcourse not scientific, ).
The video example from the previous post does this accurately enough for my needs (Tasmania area).
If it's possible to do something like that with the HP Prime, then there's no stopping me from buying it.
Can you maybe chek is this will work in Prime?
Thx
