Update on HP Prime development - Giancarlo - 10-24-2022 04:30 PM

Hello,
few hours ago a nice video has been uploaded by HPcalc.org about HHC 2022. The name of the video is: HP Calculators Distribution (Klaas Kuperus).

Klaas explain very clearly what is in progress with the Prime about its software development, connectivity kit and manual update.

I am sure you will apreciate it!

Thank you Klaas for providing all these interesting informations.

Giancarlo

Many thanks to Giancarlo!
supplementary an link to the video mentioned:
https://youtube.com/watch?v=QLTzr1-ztgk
HP Prime related starting about 00:14:52 (till about 00:26:14)
Here my first impressions after a brief viewing of the video:
- mostly one slide, no slides about detailed plans.
- the plans regarding new fw versions, future development,
integration of previous developers etc. are largely explained in the audio part
- No specific time schedules

Now waiting for more specific details from Moravia.

"new firmware will be available when it is."

Good to hear

I must admit, I was more excited about the new HP-15C and the (small) possibility of porting HP-42S to the 17bii+ platform.

I found this video to be exceedingly encouraging. Can't wait to see the fruit of all their labor.

Hello,
The explanation given by Klaas about how they are planning to take in charge the whole responsibility on hp prime hw fabrication, sw updates and connectivity kit (client and server) convinced me.

They hired the same people who created the Prime and they also have in mind to update the manual which has never been updated. On a side it is strange to me that HP didn’t dedicate such people to calculators but they accept to hire these resources to Moravia. That sound strange…

It is possible that we are going to have a working micro Python application in the next release(s) the one we have been expecting long time ago and have some bug fixed.

However these are the most comforting words on the Prime since a very long time.

Let’s wait and see…

Giancarlo
