HP 35S Fractions - lrdheat - 09-02-2022 07:47 PM One thing I like about the HP 35S is that fractions such as 1/4 are correctly estimated when a calculated result is accurate to 4 or 5 decimal places. Other calculators such as TI and CASIO will not produce a good fraction estimate until the result agrees with the fraction decimal form out to full display/calculation precision of 9 if not 12 digits. RE: HP 35S Fractions - ttw - 09-03-2022 12:45 AM For some applications, I wrote code (HP50g) to convert fractions (in real format) to continued fractions. RE: HP 35S Fractions - Rolief_Rechner - 09-06-2022 05:46 AM I rewrote Mr Horn's 15c fraction program for the 35s. Using one label makes simpler: 35s Dec ► Frac M001 LBL M (1/x key) M002 STO N M002 STO O M004 0 M005 ENTER M006 ENTER M007 1 M008 R↑ M009 INTG M010 R↑ M011 × M012 + M013 STO P M014 XEQ M033 M015 ÷ M016 RND M017 RCL N M018 RND M019 x = y? M020 GTO M032 M021 + M022 CLx M023 RCL P M024 ENTER M025 ENTER M026 R↑ M027 RCL O M028 FP M029 1/x M030 STO O M031 GTO M009 M032 RCL P M033 ENTER M034 ENTER M035 RCL N M036 × M037 0.5 M038 + M039 INTG M040 x < > y M041 RTN Due to 35s quirk it is best to enter all GTO as M001 first. After all code is entered edit GTO with correct line number. LN = 128 for check. Examples show how FIX affects result: pi FIX 4 XEQ M ENTER 355.0000 113.0000 pi FIX 3 XEQ M ENTER 333.000 106.000 pi FIX 2 XEQ M ENTER 22.00 7.00 Regards - RR |
