PX41C Alpha Overlay - agarza - 06-10-2022 09:57 PM Since the PX41C has a landsacpe layout a qwerty keyboard fits nicely. So I'm wondering if a qwerty alpha layout would be better option than an alphabetical ordered one? What do you think? Just my 2c: prefer QWERTY like the HP-71B and other 80s landscape pocket computers. But what about the PX41C solid aluminum top cover plate? - Rob RE: PX41C Alpha Overlay - Mike T. - 06-11-2022 10:21 PM Since the keyboard layout is different from the HP41C anyway it seems like a 'no brainer', providing it doesn't break anything else. I might put 'v' on 'SST' and ',' on '3' though RE: PX41C Alpha Overlay - agarza - 06-13-2022 01:22 AM (06-11-2022 04:15 PM)robve Wrote:The idea is to print the overlay (on heavy paper or plastic sheets) and mount it on top of the aluminum cover.(06-10-2022 09:57 PM)agarza Wrote: Since the PX41C has a landsacpe layout a qwerty keyboard fits nicely. Or... have a profesional graphic overlays made and glue it to the aluminum cover. (graphic overlay, like the ones used on microwave ovens) RE: PX41C Alpha Overlay - agarza - 06-13-2022 01:25 AM (06-11-2022 10:21 PM)Mike T. I suspect that there is probably a reason the original HP41 didn't use the the SST and CLx keys as alpha keys, no idea what it might be though... Mike T. Yes you are right, I'm only rearranging the keys that have alpha characters. |
