YROOT(X) - lrdheat - 06-10-2022 06:40 PM

Wondering which is the first HP calculator to offer a primary root to y root (x) so as to avoid throwing an error in cases such as 3 root (-8), or producing an imaginary result?

Related…does any HP offer d/dx other than the Prime and HP 50?

All the RPL models, starting with the HP 28C, have offered d/dx.

I would say the HP-48SX followed by the HP-32SII which both have a secondary X Root Y function on their keyboard and return -2 for 3 Root (-8).
