[43S] Let's try a poll on the new forum :-) - walter b - 12-20-2013 06:04 PM

Hi all,

Until the threaded views become viable, please allow me to ask you for your preference comparing two (2) alternatives:

a) [attachment=44] vs. b) [attachment=45]

Please NOTE:

a) will come with two menus TRIG and LOG containing
sin arcsin cos arccos tan arctan (unshifted)
sinh arsinh cosh arcosh tanh artanh (f-shifted)
and
ln e^x lg 10^x x³ \(log_{x}y\) (unshifted)
ln1+x e^x-1 lb 2^x ∛x (f-shifted),
respectively.

b) will come with the functions sinh, arsinh, cosh, arcosh, tanh, artanh, \(log_{x}y\), ln1+x, e^x-1, and ∛x put in X.FCN and without the menus TRIG and LOG.

Having read and understood that, please VOTE. Thanks in advance for your opinion.

Not any more - 50/50 now ....

Anyway I would have voted for c) with the arithmetic keys on the correct side.

Ahh!

I agree with Geoff!

The arithmetic on the right side. Please

But they are on the right side!

RE: [43S] Let's try a poll on the new forum :-) - Geoff Quickfall - 12-20-2013 07:46 PM

Happened to me flying into LA years ago:
  • ATC: cleared to land on 24 left
  • Me: roger, cleared to land on 24 left
  • Captain: was that cleared to land on 24 left (not our normal landing runway which is 24 right)
  • Me: CORRECT (not right, but CORRECT)

Understood Thomas! :-)

Left or right non problem, but ENTER key always over the operators

Both look great. Build it and I will be happy to buy one for $; € if it only works in SI.

But since ENTER on the right is wrong...

Thoughtcrime! ENTER on the left has always been right.

There's one obvious thing about layout "A", it has a lot of room for more functions since trigonometrics and log functions have moved to their own menus. So I'll reserve my final pick for the fully realized layout.

There won't be anything like a 'fully realized layout' A -- the numeric keys would stay this way without a yellow label. That's design, man Wink Just FYI.

OK then. Without reserving judgement, I like it! Much less cluttered.

this way numeric keys are more viewable!

Since there is no other way you are allowed to learn this: please note this poll was set up yesterday for five days, i.e. 120h. I leave it to you to calculate the stop date & time.

You're right... and I am not wrong. Smile

Option a for me. Less cluttered.

Fill the poll, Pauli, option "b" is going to win, we need your vote, nowSmile

I voted for B, but would have no problem with A. Seems like a waste of space not to make use of the key's secondary area which is designed to take a legend. It's no more cluttered than most of the calcs we're used to.
