new user 41C memory - institches - 07-02-2014 10:31 AM

Hi all,

I'm fairly new to the 41C and I am having trouble with memory allocation.
When I check the default registers, after a reset, I see 00 REG 46 which is correct.

After running SIZE 000 I see 00 REG 191, where I expect to see 063. There are no modules plugged in at all, although I have had some plugged in prior.
This made me wonder if it was mislabelled and it was actually a 41CV but I think I proved it is not a CV by trying to run the EMDIR command and it returned NONEXISTENT.
Now i'm starting to wonder if it is faulty or if this is normal behaviour?

Any help would be appreciated.

Kind regards,
Gary

The CV has additional memory, the CX has the extended functions built in.
You check was for a CX not a CV.

The CV should has 319 registers in total.

More likely, is you've got a 41C with two memory modules installed -- probably internally.

Hi Pauli,

Thanks for your prompt reply. I didn't realise they could have memory modules installed internally. That explains it nicely.
When I install my HP 82106A module, I get the same result. Does that mean my module is not working or being addressed correctly?

Thanks,
Gary
