An extract from Computer Predicts Pipe Corrosion, Water & Sewage Works, v125 / n9, SEP 1978, pgs 78, 93-94, 96-98

"A computer program now exists for readily determining the corrosion of concrete pipe by hydrogen sulfide. It incorporates the author's 'life factor' to determine concrete-pipe design.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The computer program boxed in at the top of pages 96 and 97 is written to operate interchangeably, on the Hewlett-Packard HP-67 pocket programmable calculator or on the HP-97 printing programmable calculator. The program utilizes the Pomeroy-Parkhurst 1977 prediction method with M' (specific sulfide flux coefficient) and N (empirical coefficient accounting for reaeration in partially filled lines) of 0.32 and 0.96 and the Az factor or 'life factor' method (Figure 3) of concrete pipe design.

The flowchart depicted in Figure 4 illustrates the method used to place a limit on the model with 'Z' and slope as previously indicated."

The article is well documented with illustrations, charts, graphs, tables, etc., as well as annotated program listing / description, etc. …
