HP50g Font Format - Neve - 08-17-2021 12:22 AM

Hi,

Since the calculator let’s you browse for other fonts, what is the appropriate font format used by the HP50g? .OTF and .TTF don’t seem to be compatible. The connectivity kit wont let me upload them to the calculator. Or maybe I’m doing this wrong way…

Thanks

The 50g uses a proprietary font format. Its internal structure was described by David Haguenauer in this article: https://www.hpcalc.org/details/2982

HP 49G/50g fonts are simple bitmaps, not scalable vector fonts like "TrueType" or anything fancy like that. Several fonts are available at hpcalc.org.
