Silly question - Mickpc - 06-19-2014 07:24 AM

I have created an app based on the solve app. How do I share this?

Thank you,

Mick C

Hello Mic,
doing a backup of your prime, in the resulting zip file,
there will be 2 (or more) files belonging to your app, e.g.
&Solve.hpapp
&Solve.hpappnote
You can distribute thes files as a zip file, and we can integrate them to the
directory from the virtual calc (C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\HP_Prime)
or add them to the backup-file and restore.

Probably there are easier routes ...
Good luck, Thomas

Using the connkit, drag the application from your connected calculator/emulator to the desktop. 3 files will be created. Make a zip file out of them. Add in a pdf or txt file if you'd like to explain about the application, give some additional information, etc.

Then that zip file just needs to be dragged and dropped onto any calculator through the connkit and it will send all the calculator files.

Tim - This is a very useful and easy-to-use new feature in the CK most folks have probably not found, so thanks for hi-lighting it here. If the author adds a PDF (or text, etc.) as you suggest, and they should, what happens to the doc files when the ZIP is dropped onto another Prime in the CK? I know they can't be viewed on the device or emu, but do they cause issues when dropped?

They are just ignored. Only calculator objects are sent. This means you can package whatever you'd like together (a movie, pdf, txt, jpg, etc) and it doesn't impact the transferring.

Any elegant ways to pull out CAS functions from a backup?
